Your Home Insulation Options
Attic Insulation (Remove & Replace)
Old settled or contaminated material vacuumed out, the attic sanitized, then re-insulated to a full R-38 blanket. The single cheapest comfort upgrade in an LA house.
Wall Insulation
Dense-pack blown-in through the exterior, or batts installed while walls are open during a remodel. R-13 to R-15 in a standard 2x4 wall.
Crawl Space & Floor Insulation
Clean-out, vapor barrier, and insulated subfloor so the cold, damp air under the house stops coming up through the floors.
Air Sealing
Can lights, top plates, plumbing chases and rim joists sealed shut. Insulation only works once the air stops moving through it.
Radiant Barrier
Reflective foil under the roof deck that can pull 20–30°F off attic temperature during an LA heat wave.
Soundproofing
Dense mineral wool, resilient channel and double drywall for bedrooms, home offices and media rooms on busy streets or under a flight path.
Attic & Crawl Space Clean-Out
Full decontamination and removal of old, dusty or rodent-damaged insulation — with or without new material going back in.
Rodent Proofing
Every entry point sealed with hardware cloth and mortar while we're already up there, so nothing moves back into the new insulation.

Blown-in or batt installed to depth, baffles at the eaves so the attic still breathes, radiant barrier if specified.

Depth markers photographed, everything hauled away, and a before/after packet for your records and any rebate.

Cool roof
$0.20 – $0.60 per sq ft
Low-slope roofs need an SRI of 78 for the lower tier, 85 for the higher. Steep-slope roofs need SRI 20 and 35. LA's Green Building Code already requires the lower tier on most reroofs, so you may qualify without changing your plan.
