The federal credits are gone. The local money isn't.
The federal 25C and 25D credits ended for work placed in service after December 31, 2025, and the EV charger credit ended June 30, 2026. If anyone quotes you a $3,200 federal credit or a 30% solar credit on a job starting today, that's a surprise you don't want at tax time. In Los Angeles the live money now comes almost entirely from LADWP, SoCalGas and the water agencies — and there's still a lot of it.

Heat pump water heater
Up to $2,500 per unit
Based on tank capacity and UEF rating. Also requires a finaled permit before the rebate is released.
High-efficiency air conditioning
$100 – $120 per ton
For non-heat-pump systems: $100 per ton at 15.2 SEER2, $120 per ton at 16.0 SEER2 or better.
Cool roof
$0.20 – $0.60 per sq ft
Low-slope roofs need an SRI of 78 for the lower tier, 85 for the higher. Steep-slope roofs need SRI 20 and 35. LA's Green Building Code already requires the lower tier on most reroofs, so you may qualify without changing your plan.
Attic insulation
$0.50 per sq ft
For insulation above R-19 ($0.30 per sq ft at R-19 or below). The home must have air conditioning. One rebate per residence every fifteen years.
ENERGY STAR windows
$2.00 per sq ft
Replacement windows only, with a U-factor of 0.30 or lower and SHGC of 0.25 or lower. Most of what we install already clears this.
Whole house fan
$200
One of the cheapest ways to cool a Valley house overnight without touching the AC.
EV charger
Up to $1,000
Up to $1,500 on Lifeline or EZ-SAVE, plus $250 more for a dedicated EV meter.

Turf replacement
$5.00 per sq ft
Capped at $25,000 or 5,000 sq ft, with a 250 sq ft minimum. Needs three plants per 100 sq ft, a stormwater retention feature and drip irrigation. Synthetic turf does not qualify, and you must be approved before a single blade of grass comes out — no exceptions.

Tankless water heater
$80 – $1,500
Tiered by UEF: $900 at 0.87–0.94, $1,100 at 0.95, $1,300 at 0.96–0.97 and $1,500 at 0.98 or above. Must replace a storage tank unit in a single-family detached home, with proof of permit closure.
Storage water heater
$300 – $575
Tiered by UEF for 20–55 gallon units rated 75 MBtuh or less. Cannot be purchased from statewide big-box retailers.
High-efficiency furnace
$1.40 – $25 per kBtuh
By AFUE: $1.40 per kBtuh at 92–94%, $10 at 95–96%, $25 at 97% or above. Proof of permit closure required.
Paperwork, handled
Most rebates are paid to you — but only we can produce the proof.
- We pull the permits and close them — a finaled LADBS permit is what releases the LADWP HVAC, water heater, cool roof and window rebates.
- We produce the paperwork only a contractor can: model numbers, efficiency ratings, invoices and permit closure proof for SoCalGas.
- We file the turf rebate approval before we touch your lawn, because removing grass first disqualifies the whole thing.
- We hand you a complete rebate package at closeout. We don't charge for it and we don't take a cut of your rebate.
Coming to the San Fernando Valley
A new residential incentive program funded under AB 157 is due to launch in late summer 2026 across 39 Valley ZIP codes (91303–91436) — Northridge, Reseda, Canoga Park, Van Nuys, Winnetka, West Hills, Chatsworth, Granada Hills and Porter Ranch included. It covers heat pump HVAC and heat pump water heaters, and for income-qualified households it may cover the full install. Amounts aren't published yet, so we're not going to guess. Ask when you call and we'll tell you exactly where it stands.

Closed — despite what you'll still read elsewhere
Federal 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit
Ended for anything placed in service after December 31, 2025. It covered heat pumps, insulation, windows, doors and panels — and it's the credit most contractor ads still quote.
Federal 25D Residential Clean Energy Credit
Ended for expenditures made after December 31, 2025. This was the 30% solar and battery credit. Unused credit from a 2025 install can still be carried forward.
Federal EV charger credit (30C)
Ended for property placed in service after June 30, 2026.
TECH Clean California
No longer accepting heat pump HVAC or heat pump water heater reservations.
HEEHRA single-family rebates
Fully reserved statewide as of February 24, 2026. New income-verification applications aren't being accepted.
California Energy Smart Homes
Fully subscribed for 2026 as of April 20, 2026 — and it never covered LADWP-electric homes anyway.
